The Basics of Your Auto Insurance Policy
Liability
Provides protection if you cause bodily injury or property damage to another person/persons. The policy will only pay up to the limits that you have selected which is why our agents advise to carry higher limits.
Comprehensive
Provides coverage to repair or replace your vehicle if the vehicle is damaged from perils such as fire, hail, wind, theft, vandalism etc,. You will be subject to your deductible before the stated benefits will pay out.
Collision
Provides coverage to fix or replace your vehicle if involved in an accident. You will be subject to your deductible before the insurance company will pay to repair your vehicle.
Uninsured/Underinsured motorist coverage
will pay for your medical bills, loss of income, etc if you are hit and injured by an uninsured driver or a driver that carries very low limits. In the state of Colorado, uninsured/underinsured coverage is very important to carry since 16% of drivers on the road don’t carry insurance.
Medical
Provides coverage for any medical bills resulting from an auto accident. Typically once medical limits are exhausted on a policy, the liability limits will be applied.
